Punctuality

IMG_0849Being on time for school is essential to allow your child to make the best possible progress.  I’m sure we’ve all experienced the feeling of arriving late for something and having to creep in after it has started.  It is enough to make any of us feel anxious!  Your child is no different which is why it is so important that they arrive at school on time.  Not being on time in the morning also means that lessons may have started and important information is being missed.  Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 will line-up in their playground each morning and will be met by teachers at 8.35am.

If you are late…

Keeping us updated with your situation is important.  If you think you are going to be late either at the beginning or end of the school day please phone and let us know.  We can advise your child’s teacher and reassure your child that you are on your way.

Your child will be marked late if they arrive after 8.40am and recorded as an unauthorised absence if they arrive after 9.10am. Letters are sent out to parents offering school support if, when monitoring the registers, there appears to be an issue. If attendance does not improve the school is obliged to follow a legal route, which may result in a court appearance.

Parents must contact the school as soon as possible before 11.00am to inform of a child’s absence from school.

Thank you to all the families who always arrive at school on time and collect their children promptly.
